In this workshop, Juliet teaches skills, techniques and physical vocabulary of Contact Improvisation alongside ways of being embodied and relational in a continually changing and moving dance.
The vocabulary of Contact Improvisation simultaneously engages the dancers in a direct, nuanced and sophisticated physicality whilst also bringing the dancers into an expanded state of embodied presence with all that this entails and offers.
How to practice a state of presence within a physical dance with a partner in such a way that we can actively make choices whilst being in relationship to our partners within a contact dance?
This workshop explores the facets of what it is to be both deeply physically engaged in a contact dance with a partner, alongside the practice of tools of relating to time and space in such a way that we can be open to what arises in any given moment.
